Santa Cruz lives its sixth night of violence. The Bolivian Police proceeded to repress the vigil in front of the Departmental Command, near the Christ the Redeemerusing chemical agents and pellets to disperse the protest against the arrest of Governor Luis Fernando Camacho.

As happened the day before, there was a confrontation with a profuse launch of tear gas and firecrackers from both sides, but then the police took control of the sector, proceeding to put out bonfires and put up the barricades.

Everything happened in the second ring road and Monseñor Rivero avenue, where a group of women protested near the Police Departmental Command. The mobilization dispersed about three blocks from the place.

A large number of police officers were deployed to contain and quell the protest.some on motorcycles, trucks and others on foot, making rounds in an attempt to arrest people carrying explosive devices.

The acts of violence lasted for about 20 minutes. The tear gas fired by the uniformed officers quickly dispersed the protesters.who responded with firecrackers and burning tires to counteract the effect of the chemicals.

The new day of violence takes place when the governor Luis Fernando Camacho celebrates his fourth day in preventive detention in the Chonchocoro prison, prosecuted for alleged ‘terrorism’ in the so-called ‘coup I case’. Camacho was the leader of the protest in 2019 when the electoral fraud perpetrated by the Movimiento Al Socialismo became known, according to an OAS report, and which later led to the resignation and departure of the then head of state Evo Morales from the country.
