Six provinces and CABA maintain active sources of forest fires

Six provinces and the city of Buenos Aires maintain active sources of forest fires.

The provinces of Misiones, Corrientes, Entre Ríos, Santa Fe, Buenos Aires, La Pampa and the city of Buenos Aires registered active forest fires on Thursday, while The firefighters managed to contain the focus that until yesterday affected Ushuaia, in Tierra del Fuegoas reported by the National Fire Management Service (SNMF).

In the rest of the coast there were also fires in the provinces of Entre Ríos, in Gualeguay (El Nuevo); Missions, in Apostles (Gerula SA); and in Santa Fe in General Obligado (Pindó Reserve).

The controlled areas

The report indicates that twelve outbreaks were “controlled” in the province of Corrientes; six in La Pampa; two in Entre Ríos, in the cities of Gualeguay and Federal; three in Río Negro, in the areas of San Antonio, Avellaneda and Bariloche; two in Santa Fe, in San Lorenzo and San Jerónimo; one in Mendoza, in Malargüe; one in Catamarca, in Fray Mamerto Esquiú; and another in the province of Buenos Aires in the Ciervo de los Pantanos National Park.

In these areas, the control line was “definitely established, anchored and secured”, so it is considered that “there is no possibility of regrowth” and the situation would have to be irreversible, explained the SNMF.
