Six projects receive Pepín Corripio Entrepreneur Awards

Six projects were winners of the Pepín Corripio Entrepreneur Awards that were delivered this Sunday at the closing ceremony of the VIII Entrepreneurs Fair of the Dominican Republic 2021 (FE RD).

The delivery was led by the Minister of Tourism, David Collado and the businessman Manuel Corripio, representing his father, José Luis ‘Pepín’ Corripio.

The winning projects were: Neros, in first place; Todo Fresco, second place and Cacaomae, third place. Meanwhile, Milz Chocolat, fourth place; Cocotai, fifth place; and Ruta del Casabe Doña Mechy, sixth place, which were selected from a total of 80 contestants.

The winners obtained cash prizes for RD $ 500 thousand for the first place and RD $ 300 thousand for the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth place. In addition, they will receive one-hour counseling sessions for a year from businessmen José Luis Corripio (Pepín); Manuel Corripio and Ligia Bonetti, as well as the SID Group; United Capital Stock Exchange, Banco Popular Dominicano and Jacqueline Mora.

Collado called on the participants to continue fighting for their dreams, highlighting that the only path that lasts is that of transparency and honesty.

“With this we want to show that, if the young person has a good idea, is minimally working capital and the proper advice, entrepreneurs can get ahead in our country”said the official.

On his side, the businessman Manuel Corripio, from the Corripio Group, recommended that young entrepreneurs concentrate more on what they have and not on what they lack: “They have dreams, they have energy, they lack capital, focus on their dreams.”

“It is important that dreams and ideas always precede capital and that they always have more dreams than money throughout their career, because that will guarantee that they will move forward,” he said.

He also recommended that young people do something that they like, in what they are good at and at the same time, “identify an idea that, in addition to their liking and being good, someone is willing to pay them”.

Among the aspects that were evaluated in this VIII Entrepreneurs Fair were: innovation, the exportable capacity of the Country Brand, product quality and creativity.

The Entrepreneurs Fair was held at an activity in Ágora Mall. It was supported by the Banco Popular Dominicano; Fundación Acción, Emprende y Transforma; SID group; United Capital Stock Exchange; Ágora Mall and Grupo SIN.
