Port-au-Prince (EFE).- Six policemen were assassinated this Wednesday by armed gangs in Haitiwith which the agents killed in less than two weeks at the hands of these groups, which have become strong in the country, rise to ten.
The six officers lost their lives in Liancourt, in the Artibonite department, in attacks by armed gangs that control the area and have driven hundreds of people from their homes.
In videos posted by the gangs online, the six naked police officers can be seen with guns across their stomachs, while the voices of gang members can be heard bragging about their deeds.
The troops, who had refugee in a dispensary during a confrontation, they were intercepted by the gangs, who took them to another place and killed them.
The victims belong to the Departmental Unit for the Maintenance of Order (UDMO), according to the local press, which describes the action as a tragedy that affects the Haitian National Police.
In 2022, some 55 agents were assassinated in the country, in a context marked by the deterioration of the security climate and dominated by armed attacks, the multiplication of kidnappings, robberies and rapes. EFE
