Six people died and seven were injured, one seriously, when hit by a truck near Rotterdam, Dutch police reported today.
The event, which occurred this Saturday, occurred when a group of people shared a meal as part of a party organized by a local skating club and was hit by a truck with Spanish license plates that went off the road in Zuidzijdsedijk, about 30 kilometers south of Rotterdam.
At first, the police indicated that at least two people had died, but this Sunday raised the death toll to six.

“We are investigating what exactly happened,” a police spokeswoman, Mirjam Boers, told the AFP news agency, adding that seven people were injured, one seriously.
According to images taken after the accident, it was established that the truck belongs to the company El Moscabased in Spain.
The driver was arrested “and was not under the influence of alcohol,” the police spokeswoman said.
A witness quoted by local television stated that the truck paused for a moment at a ditch intersection, before heading toward the group.
