Six people died and seven were injured, one seriously, when they were run over by a truck near Rotterdam, the Dutch police reported this Sunday.
The incident, which occurred on Saturday, occurred when a group of people shared a meal at a party organized by a local skating club y fHe was hit by a truck with Spanish license plates that went off the road in Zuidzijdsedijk, about 30 kilometers south of Rotterdam.
At first, the police indicated that at least two people had died, but this Sunday raised the figure to six.
“We are investigating what exactly happened”A police spokeswoman, Mirjam Boers, told the AFP news agency, adding that there are seven wounded, one seriously.

The victims are three women aged 28, 32 and 75, and three men aged 41, 50 and 62., all from the area, police said. One of the injured is hospitalized in critical condition.
Three of the victims – a mother, her son and her eight-month-pregnant daughter-in-law – belonged to the same family, according to local television channel Rijnmond,
“The lives of six neighbors have been taken. One of the victims was pregnant,” said the mayor of the town, Charlie Aptroot, according to whom, among the injured were children.
According to images taken after the incident, it was established that the truck belongs to the company El Mosca, based in Spain.
The driver was arrested “and was not under the influence of alcohol”said the police spokeswoman, added AFP.
A witness quoted by local television stated that the truck stopped for a moment at a ditch intersection, before heading towards the group.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, as well as Prime Minister Mark Rutte, expressed their sorrow over the tragedy.
