The 60% of the Uruguayans expressed their support for the government of Luis Lacalle Pou to advance in the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Chinaand a 12% said he disagreed, according to a new Teams poll released Wednesday on Underlined (channel 10). While, twenty% gave intermediate opinions, and 8% did not give an opinion

Since the beginning of the public discussion and first measurement on the topic of Teams, in October 2021, the opinions of Uruguayans have maintained little significant differences.

However, when inquiring about what should Uruguay do if Mercosur does not authorize the signing of the treaty, the structure of opinion changes. A majority of the population continues to be in favor of moving forward, but this majority is reduced to 51%, while those who would prefer not to sign without the consent of Mercosur represent 44%.

If you take into account the opinion regarding the political sympathies, in the “right and center-right” support is high (73%), and in the “center” as well (66%). In contrast, among those identified with the “left” the scenario is more divided (42%).

The survey was conducted between July 30 and August 8 from cell phone inquiries. 500 people over 18 years of age were interviewed throughout the country.

The maximum margin of error expected for a probabilistic sample of 500 cases is ±4.4% considering a 95% confidence interval.

Equipos clarifies that the consultation is financed by multiple clients: the media, social organizations, private companies, international organizations and political parties, among others.
