A bus fell into the river from about 75 meters high, causing the death of six people on Saturday, December 24. The authorities were notified of the event through a phone call made from inside the transport vehicle.

As reviewed EFE, The emergency teams terminated the rescue operation for the victims early in the afternoon of this Sunday, December 25, after recovering the sixth fatality and coinciding with the count of people who were on board given by the relatives. .
The first two victims were located on Christmas Eve, shortly after the accident. Early this Sunday they found the third body inside the bus, while the other three were found hours later in the river, downstream from where the accident occurred.
The bus driver along with a passenger were rescued alive, according to the emergency service of that country.
It was learned that the bus plunged into the river from about 75 meters high, after leaving the road on a bridge. The Lérez river, where the bus fell, was swollen, above the overflow threshold, and it continued like this during the rescue work, which made it difficult during the night.

The event was reported by a private individual who was circulating in the area and upon noticing the broken bridge railing, he notified the authorities, although he could not see the bus. Shortly after, the authorities received a call from inside the vehicle itself, detailing what had happened.
The president of the regional government of Galicia, Alfonso Rueda, today pointed to the “very bad weather conditions” as one of the possible causes of the accident, which occurred on a straight line.
