Six people died this Tuesday in a new shooting in the United States, this time in a Walmart supermarket in Chesapeake, Virginia, according to local media reports. The offender is also counted among the victims.
Police notified shortly after that the person who opened fire was a Walmart employee. The police forces were alerted at 22:12 local time on Tuesday (03:12 GMT on Wednesday), when the supermarket was still open.

The Walmart, located in Chesapeake, will be closed for several days while the investigation unfolds, Trooper Leo Kosinski said early Wednesday morning.
Chesapeake, in southeastern Virginia, is a city of about 250,000 people and is part of the Virginia Beach and Norfolk metropolitan area.

So far this year, there have been 40 mass murders according to this record. The database defines a mass murder as one in which at least four people are killed, not including the killer.
