A search and capture operation was activated in the east of the country after the escape of six condemned inmates of the Oriente El Dorado Penitentiary Center, located in the Sifontes municipality of Bolívar state. The fugitives, sentenced for various crimes, were identified as Ángel José Sookdeo Ishmael, Víctor Alexander Aldarozo Álvarez, Eduardo Ramón Mata González, Heiker José Jiménez López, José Alexander Barrios Jiménez and Darwin Daniel Bramble Ramos.
Police experts from the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (Cicpc) They launched an exhaustive investigation, focused on determining the possible participation of officials from the National Institute of Penitentiary Services (INSP), the entity in charge of custody of the prison.
Due to the geographic location of the detention center, the hypothesis is that the escapees received logistical support and used a boat to flee across the Cuyuní River, according to a note from The Aragüeño.
In response to the leak, a national alert was issued. The Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), The Cicpc and the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) activated an extensive operation in the area and the photos of the six criminals have been distributed to all the checkpoints in the country, in an effort to recapture them.
