The Defense Commission of Congress summoned this Monday, March 13, María Gloria, Irma and María Elisa Castillo Terrones, sisters of Pedro Castillo, as well as his nephew Gian Marco Castillo Gómez, for the alleged irregular use of military aircraft in unofficial activities of the former president. Also in the session would be Henry Shimabukuro, former presidential adviser and former Defense Minister Walter Ayala Gonzales.
In October 2022, Congress approved by majority granting powers to the National Defense Commission to investigate the improper use of the Armed Forces ships in the transfer of relatives of Pedro Castillo.
The decision taken by Congress originates from a complaint made by the Centro Liber portal on September 25. The investigation reveals the alleged irregular use of planes belonging to the State by relatives and close friends of Castillo.
According to the facts presented, two of the nephews of the head of state, Kevin Castillo Medina and Cristian Ríos Castillo, would have made constant trips to national destinations —such as Talara, Iquitos, Tumbes or Puerto Maldonado— with military planes.
