The Mexico City International Airport (AICM) reported that the vehicular access ramp of terminal 2 operates normally, after a lane was closed early Tuesday morning for maintenance works to repair a 10-centimeter sinkhole “that was generated by the natural settlement of the land” where the air terminal is located.
He added that as part of the functional remodeling of the AICM, an executive project is about to begin that will determine the needs for comprehensive rehabilitation of the access ramps to Terminal 2. “This will allow comprehensive maintenance to be scheduled in 2026 to minimize the effects caused by future natural settlements.”
He noted that on Tuesday the ramp was 100 percent operational, but during the early hours of December 3, work was also carried out to comprehensively attend to the descent ramp on the upper floor of terminal 2.
