Early Sunday morning, the vernacular music performers Sumacc Soncco and Clavelita de Surcubamba, along with the members of the musical group Agrupación Takiri, suffered a traffic accident when they were returning to Huancayo after a performance in the town center of Maraypampa, district of Colcabamba, province of Tayacaja.

The incident occurred around 2:30 in the morning, in the sector known as Huancayoccasa, when the driver of the vehicle lost control for reasons still under investigation. The unit slid several meters down a slope and was on the edge of an abyss, being stopped by the trunks of pine and eucalyptus trees in the area, which prevented a tragedy.

Through a statement, Sumacc Soncco expressed its gratitude to the residents of Maraypampa and Huancayoccasa for the support provided after the accident. “Happily we still live to tell the tale. Grateful to all the people who helped us. God bless them,” said the artist.
