The production of singer and composer Lô Borges confirmed that the artist underwent a tracheostomy this Saturday (25). His condition remains serious, but stable.
According to the medical bulletin released today, the procedure was necessary to offer more comfort and maintain mechanical ventilation.
Lô Borges has been hospitalized for ten days at the Unimed Contorno unit in Belo Horizonte, since a case of drug poisoning, and there is no expectation of hospital discharge.
Biography
Lô Borges was one of the founders, alongside singer and composer Milton Nascimento, of the Clube da Esquina movement, which revolutionized national music from the 1970s and 1980s. The movement, named after a 1972 album of the same name, fused influences from rock, jazz and psychedelic music with the tradition of MPB and Minas Gerais, creating a timeless and complex sound.
