The winter weather this Sunday did not prevent the children and families of the La Timba neighborhood of the capital from enjoying a beautiful cultural show organized by the Musical Recording and Editions Company (EGREM) to launch the CD Sing your rights.
The José Martí Art Instructors Brigade and other municipal factors joined the party that also intended to celebrate the 169 years of the man from The Golden Age, our José Martí.
The Cultural Center La Plaza de 31 y 2, one of the most active institutions in community work, was the venue that welcomed the Solfa choir and the children’s musical-dance company Identidad.
The album Sing your rights results from the television program of the same name, which was broadcast in the summer of 2018 as part of the activities of the contest launched by UNICEF in partnership with the ICRT, for World Children’s Day.
According to the note released by EGREM: “The objective, in addition to making these contestants known, was to promote the musical composition of adolescents and create a setting and environment conducive to their expression and participation as subjects of law, as well as to involve everyone with their ways of interpreting music and recounting their experiences”.
The company itself considered this album as “an unprecedented phonographic document, where the protagonists write their story through unpublished works”.
Time to sing, dance, play, consume and acquire good music, share with the family and reaffirm that on this island of Martí “we work for the children because they are the ones who know how to love, because they are the hope of the world”.
