The figures contrast with those of Bogotá (1,262), Medellín (642), Cali (597) and Barranquilla (562), where the rates are up to eight times higher.

The city of Sincelejo leads the national ranking and consolidates itself as a model in reducing multicrime. Crimes such as extortion, residential theft, motorcycle theft and homicides also show a downward trend.

“These results are the reflection of coordinated work with our Public Force, the Prosecutor’s Office, the judiciary and active citizens. “We are consolidating our comprehensive model for security in the territories,” said the mayor of Sincelejo, Yahir Acuña, who has promoted the “Sincelejo, Safe City” Security Modela strategy that involves the Police, the Army, the Prosecutor’s Office and the community in joint actions against organized crime.
