The candidate for the presidency for free application, Maribel Gordón, spoke with Radio Panama and detailed some inconsistencies that she has had as an independent candidate in the collection of signatures, she also touched on issues of national and political interest, she revealed that she has already achieved 100% of the signatures required for the first stage of your candidacy.
He said that they have already collected 2%, exceeding the 40,000 signatures required to be a candidate for the presidency.
He denounced that there are still 6 months left to complete the process of collecting signatures, yet the Electoral Tribunal has not given any light on the results of the internal audits that were opened more than 3 months ago.
“We do not know what the result is or the real position of the candidates, for or up to three of the positions by free application,” he said.
As an economist, Gordon referred to the economic situation or crisis facing the country with the increase in unemployment and the rise in the price of goods, services and the basic food basket.
“There are a series of deficiencies, in various social sectors such as health and education, and that places the Panamanian population in the abyss of not having the capabilities to be able to face the high cost of living,” he said, noting that there is instability labor that promotes informality exacerbating the crisis in the national economy.
He added that the current administration is not being consistent with the national reality and the demands of the population.
“It is an administration that has been indolent in the face of the serious economic and social problems faced by the majority of the population,” he said.
Regarding the candidacy of Vice President José Gabriel Carrizo, he said that since his term began, he has been an electoral proselytizer, so this postulation is not surprising.
He requested that the Electoral Tribunal enforce the law and not allow Carrizo, taking advantage of his position as vice president, to use this platform as a stage to advertise himself to the Panamanian population.
