Sinaloa strengthens international projection at FITUR: investment, marketing and air connectivity

  • The state Secretary of Tourism, Mireya Sosa Osuna, assured that the entity’s participation in the fair held in Madrid, Spain, was based on three axes: promotion and marketing; attracting investment and strengthening air connectivity

Culiacán, Sinaloa, January 26, 2026.- The state of Sinaloa reinforced its international projection at the FITUR Tourism Fair, held from January 21 to 25 in Madrid, Spain.

During her speech at the Semanera conference this Monday, together with Governor Rubén Rocha Moya, the Secretary of Tourism of Sinaloa, Mireya Sosa Osuna, pointed out that the entity’s participation in FITUR was based on three strategic axes: promotion and marketing; attraction of investment and strengthening of air connectivity.

“Last week we were present at FITUR, the most important international tourism fair in the world, where Mexico was the partner country, which means that Mexico has all the visibility, before, during and after the fair. 156 countries from all over the world were present and from Mexico we were the 32 states of the Republic,” he stated.

In this sense, more than 400 business meetings were held with tourism promoters from Spain, Russia, Africa, the Middle East and South America, as well as airlines, specialized media and strategic business partners.

In terms of promotion, a destination presentation was made to 50 travel agents, tour operators and specialized media, showing five tourist routes throughout the state.

“As you all know, Mazatlán is one of the main sun and beach destinations nationally and internationally, but our governor has asked us to make the entire state known and under this instruction we went with five routes, putting greater emphasis on the route From the Pacific to the Barrancas, which begins in Mazatlán, goes out to Los Mochis, which is the gateway to the Copper Canyon, where we announced Topolobampo, Maviri, El Fuerte, which is one of our five Magical Towns,” he highlighted.

In addition to business meetings with business partners, with the aim of strengthening alliances, part of the history and customs that give life to Sinaloa were shown.

“We were promoting our roots, culture, customs, our artisans, our traditional cooks, which is what makes us unique, what differentiates us from the 156 participating countries,” he emphasized.

To give a greater boost to air connectivity, meetings were held with airlines such as Volaris, Viva Aerobús, and WestJet, resulting in the creation of new routes that will be announced soon.

And regarding the attraction of tourist investment, the state official stated that important hotel groups were very interested in the entity.

“Very interested in the investment, very important chain groups such as Barceló, Iberostar and RIU, the latter reiterating its commitment to investing in Mazatlán, where it is one of the five largest hotels in the world that will be in Mazatlán; we had very good results and once these investments are made they will be made known,” Sosa Osuna pointed out.
