The candidate for the Presidency of the Republic by the MDB, Simone Tebet, highlighted this Thursday (1st) the importance of agribusiness in the country. On a visit to the Expointer fair, in Esteio (RS), the candidate said that she is “ready to defend” Brazilian agriculture.Simone Tebet: Brazil should invest in carbon credit market

“It is necessary to make it clear that the environment and agribusiness walk together,” he said. For the candidate, the country should seize the opportunity to invest in the carbon credit market. “The world wants to buy carbon credits. We need to take advantage of that,” she added.

Simone Tebet’s government plan for agriculture foresees, among other things, the adoption of a multi-annual harvest plan, with credit, insurance and storage; the expansion of logistics, especially railroads; the promotion of low carbon agriculture and crop-livestock-forest integration (ILPF). Also among the priorities are the national production of agricultural inputs and fertilizers, seeking to increase productivity and reduce dependence on imports; support for family farming and the strengthening and modernization of Embrapa and rural extension agencies.
