Aguaceros disminuirán a partir de este miércoles, según Meteorología

Santo Domingo.- The downpours will decrease starting this Wednesday in much of the country, but eight provinces remain on “yellow alert” and 16 on green, plus the National District, due to the rain that could indirectly be caused by tropical storm Rafael, plus the remnants of a trough that passed through Dominican territory.

The provinces in yellow are Puerto Plata, Espaillat, Hermanas Mirabal, Duarte, Valverde, Dajabón, Pedernales and Barahona, where rainfall could increase in the next 24 hours, according to the Emergency Operations Center (COE).

Rafael does not pose a direct danger to the Dominican Republic, but its cloud band can cause downpours over provinces such as Barahona, Pedernales, in the south, plus Dajabón, in the west of the country.
