Santo Domingo.- The rains will extend until Thursday in a large part of the country, due to the incidence of a trough, reported this Tuesday the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet).
These precipitations will have a greater impact on the provinces The towns of Barahona, Pedernales, Bahoruco, Azua, La Vega, El Seibo and Maria Trinidad Sanchez are all within the boundaries of the town.
In addition, Santo Domingo, San Pedro de Macoris, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, Juan Sanchez Ramirez, Monsignor Nouel, Elias Pine, Santiago de los Caballeros, Dajabon, Santiago Rodriguez and the National District.
The Meteorological Service also reported that it is monitoring two areas of heavy rain located east of the Lesser Antilles, which could develop in the coming days.

“We are monitoring two areas of heavy rain. The first, located in the Central Atlantic, east of the Lesser Antilles, has a 40% chance of developing into a tropical cyclone in 48 hours. The second, hundreds of kilometres southwest of the Cape Verde Islands, has a 30% chance in 48 hours and 70% in 7 days,” warns Indomet.
The Meteorological Department urged the population to pay attention to official bulletins, which will be issued in the future, regarding the evolution of both phenomena.
