Moments of terror were experienced by students of a school -of the same name of the city- in Antofagasta, this after shots were registered in its surroundings, forcing their students to take refuge in their desks so as not to be hit by one of the bullets.
In the existing audiovisual records, it can be seen that everything began as a result of a street fight outside the educational establishment located in the northern sector of the city.
Faced with this, the supporter of the college, Rodrigo Rivero Perezspecified in 24 hours that “there was a shooting near the school. We took all the protective measures with the students, one of the internal procedures was activated.” He also pointed out that the parents of the students who suffered anxiety attacks were called to remove them.
The sounds of the shots were also heard in two other nearby schools, the Liceo La Chimba and the Netland School, who had to take protective measures against the events.
The commissioner of the 5th Police Station of La Portada, Natty Gonzalez, indicated that after inspections in the area, no weapons were found. He also explained that a vehicle in which minors and an adult were traveling was searched, added to the constant patrols in the area.
At the moment there are no detainees and investigations into the case continue.
