José Daniel Campos, a member of the Tren del Llano criminal organization, was killed during an armed confrontation in the El Cementerio sector, Tucupido, Guárico.
A commission from the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) was patrolling in the aforementioned sector. And that’s when the confrontation with a group of armed individuals took place, one of whom was killed and was identified as José Daniel Campos, alias El Danielito.
This subject was requested for the homicide of a police officer that occurred on 05/26/2021, according to an open file in the Cicpc-Zaraza.
At the scene of the events they collected a Glock pistol, caliber 9mm, serial EMR143, with a magazine containing six cartridges and ten cartridges caliber 7.62X39mm intended for rifles.
In mid-March, the Tren del Llano installed a cell in the Pedro Zaraza municipality, eastern Guárico, and began a series of extortions against agricultural producers from neighboring towns, including Tucupido, Onoto, and Santa María de Ipire, according to investigations.
Said cell is directed by Carlos Pirela and Henry José Milano Linero, who send videos to the victims demanding that they contact them.
As a result of the viralization of these videos and the exposure of the case in Last News, the Ministry of the Interior, Justice and Peace launched the so-called Operation Thunder in six of the 15 municipalities of Guárico. Through this deployment, 24 subjects were captured, 18 of whom were requested by the 1st Special Court of Control with Jurisdiction in Cases Related to Terrorism. For this reason, the 18 were transferred to the Palace of Justice in Caracas where they were charged.
