Bolivia’s participation in the next edition of the Copa America Talla Baja soccer tournament was at risk, because the delegation did not have enough tickets to travel to Lima (Peru), venue of the tournament, which will be held from May 20 to 24.
The coordinator of the short Bolivian national team, Olivia Ojopi, reported that the Vice Ministry of Sports sI only wanted to grant five ticketswhen the members of the delegation add up to 19.
“An adviser from the Vice Ministry of Sports informed us that they can only grant us five tickets, that cannot be, we are 19 people who have to travel, but we will continue to make arrangements to solve the problem for us,” Ojopi told DIEZ.
Hours later, the good news arrived for the short team, because Ojopi received a call from the Vice Minister of Sports in which he was guaranteed 15 tickets for the trip to Peru.
The remaining passages are being managed and Two more have already been obtained. so in the next few hours they are expected to have the 19 tickets they need.
It is expected that 15 players will go to Lima (7 play), the coach, field assistant, coach and coordinator. The trip is scheduled for Thursday night because the following day Bolivia must play the opening match against Peru.
“The Bolivian Football Federation is not going to give us tickets because is supporting us with lodging and food, so we are very worried,” Ojopi said.
The delegation is concentrated in Santa Cruz awaiting the trip. Bolivia integrates group A of the tournament jointly host Peru, Colombia and Canada/USA.
In group B are Paraguay, Guatemala, Brazil and Morocco; while group C is made up of Argentina, Mexico and Ecuador.
