The Bogotá Metropolitan Police is currently investigating a shooting that occurred in the San Victorino area, in the center of the capital, which left two people dead and three citizens injured, including a police officer.
The incident took place around 11 in the morning, specifically on Carrera 10 and Calle 19, in the middle of a work break, when The sector was busy with visitors and merchants.
According to initial versions, a subject shot at two people, unleashing panic among passers-by, who fled in terror when they heard the shots.
Upon the authorities’ arrival, approximately one minute later, they found the two victims on the street. Although the first hypotheses point to a possible hitman, there is a lack of official information to confirm this line of investigation.

The area has been secured by the police to facilitate the collection of evidence and the removal of the bodies, a task that is in charge of the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) of the Attorney General’s Office.
The situation generated road closures in the area, affecting traffic in one of the busiest areas of the city. A mobility report, issued at 2:25 pm, indicated that Calle 19 and Carrera 10 are closed while Investigations are carried out, recommending drivers use alternative routes.
The merchants of San Victorino report moments of terror due to the uncertainty of what happened. “No one knew what was happening, we just heard the shots and ran,” said one of the street vendors in the area.

This is not an isolated case, since in the recent past, San Victorino was the scene of other violent acts. A month ago, a security guard was shot down, and in June 2023, Another citizen lost his life in similar circumstances.
