A shocking video that began to circulate on social networks revealed how the serious traffic accident occurred that on the night of Monday, February 9, forced the total closure of Alto de La Línea, a key national highway.
The images, spread on social networks, show the moment in which a tractor-trailer enters at high speed a section where the road is reduced to a single lane due to construction, while several vehicles advance slowly. In a matter of seconds, the cargo truck hits one of them and drags the others, unleashing a multiple crash of large proportions.

The accident occurred around 8:50 at night, at kilometer 36+000 of national route 4003A, in the Itaic sector, jurisdiction of the municipality of Cajamarca (Tolima), as confirmed by the Secretary of Transit and Transportation of Tolima.
Five vehicles were involved in the accident: a tanker-type tractor-trailer, a tractor-trailer, a turbo-type truck and two motorcycles. The force of the impact left the vehicles practically destroyed, as can be seen in the audiovisual material.
One of the moments that caught the most attention in the video was when a car managed to avoid the tractor-trailer by centimeters and miraculously emerged unscathed, avoiding being trapped in the collision.
The authorities reported injured people, including a motorcyclist with serious injuries, who received immediate attention from the relief agencies that arrived at the scene. So far, no fatalities have been confirmed.
After the accident, the road remained closed in both directions while emergency teams attended to the situation and authorities carried out investigations to establish the exact causes of this serious accident in one of the busiest corridors in the country.
