Shipment of 3 tons of cocaine to Afghanistan thwarted in Maiquetía

Lieutenant Colonel of the Bolivarian Military Aviation, César José Pérez Salas, president of the Southern Air Transport Company, is one of the eleven people arrested

A total of 3,000 kilos of cocaine were seized at the Air Customs facilities of the Simón Bolívar International Airport, located in Maiquetía, La Guaira state, according to military sources.

The shipment was impregnated with coffee and was to be sent to Afghanistan. The aforementioned merchandise came with packaging from the company Comercializadora “Café El Faraón CA”, domiciled in the El Helechal sector, Junín municipality (Rubi) Táchira state, according to a report from Detachment 451 of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB).

During the procedure, eleven people were arrested, including Lieutenant Colonel of the Bolivarian Military Aviation, César José Pérez Salas, president of the Transport Company Aereocargo del Sur, SA”, an entity attached to the Ministry of Transport, according to the report of the Special Anti-Drug Unit No. 45 to which we had partial access.

The following individuals were arrested: Charlie Jose Colon Santoyo, Carlos Jesus Colon Santoyo, Jesus Eduardo Salcedo Ruiz, Joangel Enrique Anton Sepulveda, Alexis Alexander Sepulveda Cobaria, Conception Niño Torres, Roger Alfredo Vergara Perez, Eliaxis Joshua Nava Rodriguez, Alexander Nehomar Santalis and Yuisay Yaneiza Ramirez Pinto.

These people were handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office where a case was opened against them for illicit drug trafficking.
