Miss Universe 2023, Sheynnis Palacios, arrived back in Costa Rica today to participate in the Miss Universe Costa Rica 2024 coronation gala, which will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, September 10, at the International Convention Center.
Palacios will crown the new representative of Costa Rican beauty, who will represent the country in the Miss Universe pageant, which will be held on November 16 in Mexico. After her arrival, Sheynnis will give a press conference this afternoon to the media in Costa Rica.
This is the second time that the universal beauty is in the Central American country. At a press conference held by the organization in Mexico, Palacios said she was excited to celebrate the new Miss Costa Rica and happy to return to that country because it meant being close to Nicaragua.
The beauty queen said in the interview in Mexico that during her stay in Costa Rica she will take advantage of this trip to “fill up” on gallopinto, beans, cheese and tortillas and also enjoy herself with the Nicaraguan diaspora that resides in that country.

Miss Universe co-owner Raúl Rocha Cantú said that Palacios will visit Nicaragua before handing over the crown. “Without a doubt, it is part of the entire agenda that he has to be able to be in Nicaragua and share with the Nicaraguans,” he said.
Palacios denied that she was banned from entering Nicaragua; however, Daniel Ortega’s dictatorship has imprisoned citizens who have expressed their support for Miss Universe and banished the director of Miss Nicaragua, Karen Celebertti, and her family, shortly after winning the pageant in 2023.
Sheynnis could become one of the most traveled Grand Slam winners in history, having traveled to 25 countries so far. This Tuesday, Sheynnis will share the pageant with the 13 Miss Costa Rica candidates; Miss Panama 2024, Italy Mora, and Nicaraguan influencer Alejandra Pérez, who will participate as a judge at the event.
Palacios Cornejo announced this Sunday, September 8, her relationship with the former Venezuelan baseball player and professional trainer Carlos Gómez. Palacios and Gómez met during the visit made by the beauty queen to the reality show television program “The House of the Famous.”
