By demanding a thorough investigation of the murder of Mexican Silverio Villegas in an operation of the Customs Immigration and Control Service (ICE) in Chicago, President Claudia Sheinbaum reported that her government will send a diplomatic note for this and other facts related to human rights violations.
“We do not agree with what is happening (in Chicago with the raids) … and you are waiting for the investigation, to really know what happened in the case of this national that was killed.”
Yesterday, at his Mañanera conference, he said that all the information was requested from the United States government, “and we are attending to both the family and in the investigation of (knowing) really what happened and condemn it.” He stressed that Ambassador Esteban Moctezuma continues to “advise and support the countrymen in everything that is required.”
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the Federal Office of Research of the United States (FBI) investigates the murder of Villegas González, who was shot, apparently from a migratory agent, in an attempt to detention in a suburb.
