The president affirmed that her administration addresses insecurity and violence, as well as the arrival of drugs to the United States, which is why she asked that the Trump government do the same and prevent weapons from leaving her country destined for Mexico.
“We prevent and address insecurity in Mexico, violence. We prevent drugs from reaching the United States and they must also prevent weapons from reaching Mexico and combat the organized crime that operates in the United States,” he said.
The president stressed that Mexico and the United States must work together in the fight against violence and drug trafficking, as she emphasized that both countries have shared responsibilities.
Furthermore, Sheinbaum was firm that Mexico’s foreign policy will not change and stressed that the relationship with the US government is based on collaboration, especially on security issues.
“It is a moment of collaboration on different issues, particularly on the issue of security,” he added.
