“I am going to marry. I’m in love. With Jesus. We met in college, a lot of years ago, we were dating in college for about a year and a half, we separated. He got married, I got married, each got divorced. We contact each other via Facebook. I sent him a friend request. He came to Mexico, ”said the Morenista about her relationship with Jesús María Tarriba.
The president stressed that she is a friend of the other three characters who will compete for Morena’s candidacy: Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard; the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López, and Senator Ricardo Monreal.
“As there will be several surveys, they will start at the end of June, July, around there. There are rules of the game”, said Sheinbaum about the method that Morena will use to choose the presidential candidate.
Regarding the tours that she has carried out in other states, the head of government stressed that they are not illegal activities and that the rulers can be invited to tell about the strategies they have implemented.
Sheinbaum recalled that an operation with the National Guard was implemented in the Metro Collective Transportation System (STC) based on multiple atypical incidents.
“People are happy to have brought in the National Guard. There is surveillance. There is the statistic that incidents are atypical. I have the responsibility that people are safe on the Metro. Investigations are carried out and the important thing is that there are no such actions. Many of the events had practically never occurred. Others it is rare that they occur. There are investigations,” he said.
When asked when she will leave her post if she is chosen as Morena’s presidential candidate, Sheinbaum said that her intention is to go until the last moment.
“Constitutionally, I have until September 2024, if you are a candidate for something, you must leave your public position for six months, I would have to leave in December 2023, to aspire to another position,” he said.
