In his First Government Reportthe president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, stressed that the supply of medicines in health centers and public hospitals already exceeds 90% and that, at the end of this year, 31 new hospitals will be in operation throughout the country.
“Despite all the bad omen, lies and slander, we work every day for the free supply of medicines,” said the federal president from the National Palace, where she presented the main progress of her first year of administration.
To regularize the Medication supply First level, he recalled that a few weeks ago they started with the program “Health routes”.
He said that this week they will begin with complementary delivery for second and third levels.
In terms of health, the federal president explained that the Ministry of Health implemented the national medical care protocols to regulate the medicines that must be available in the first, second and third level of care, depending on the type of disease, so that it advances with the delivery of medicines.
“We are persistent and accurate … access to health is not a merchandise or a privilege, it is a right of the people of Mexico,” he said.
In her speech, the president of Mexico recalled that to fulfill her health goals, they will strengthen the three main institutions of the country: IMSS, ISSSTE and IMSS-Bienestar.
Therefore, he assured that by the end of this year, 31 new hospitals and 12 clinics and family medicine units will have been launched in different states of the Mexican Republic.
He pointed out that to date 15 hospitals have already been inaugurated, and in the next four months they will be put into operation 16 plus under the operation of the IMSS, ISSSTE and IMSS-Bienestar.
The new hospitals are located in the states of Baja California, Chiapas, Chihuahua, Mexico City, Campeche, Hidalgo, Guanajuato, Puebla, Sonora, Oaxaca and Guerrero, to name a few.

Additionally, he added, between 2025 and early 2026, 20 hospitals will be built, 10 of them will be built with the support of military engineers.

He added that they also launched 12 clinics and family medicine units, some already opened during this year.
These units are located in Zacatecas, Nuevo León, Coahuila, State of Mexico, Oaxaca, Hidalgo, Quintana Roo and Chihuahua.
Investment in operating rooms and laboratories
In health, the federal executive also spoke of the investment of 1.5 billion pesos in 2025 to acquire the necessary equipment and put 300 operating rooms that did not operate “fully” in hospitals of the IMSS-Bienestar and the ISSSTE.
In addition, they have implemented the program “Laboratory at your clinic”, To increase the coverage of clinical analysis in health centers of the IMSS-Bienestar.
“This program guarantees better clinical diagnoses, in addition to avoiding hospitals saturation. IMSS-Bienestar patients also receive the result of their study on their cell phone in a prompt and expeditant way,” said the president.
With this, a growth of 553 to 3,387 centers is expected, which represents an increase of 500% nationwide.
Only in the State of Mexico, the number of centers, with sampling, went from 84 to 606, he said.
While this Monday, September 1, the “Laboratory in your Clinic” program began in the units of the Mexico City, Tlaxcala, Quintana Roo and Baja California Sur.
For next Monday, September 15, the State of Colima. Already for the closing of this year, the plan is that it works already in all the states that belong to the IMSS-Bienestar.
Another of the health actions mentioned by the President is the “Health Casa per Casa” program, with which 20,000 servers in the sector visit the homes of adults and older adults, and people with disabilities to provide them with medical care services.
