After several weeks of pause, yesterday the president Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo resumed her weekly meetings on Monday with the parliamentary coordinators of Morena in the Congress of the Union, Ricardo Monreal (Chamber of Deputies) and Adam Augusto López (Senate).
In a meeting that lasted for about an hour and a half in the National Palace, the president and both legislators spoke – monreal said – around “30 legal implementation that have to be updated or modified, including the electoral reform, which will begin hearings and forums”.
In the morning, at her conference, the chief of the Executive said that in the appointment purely legislative issues would be discussed with the next period of sessions of the Congress, which will begin on September 1.
“That they know the initiatives and what is the government’s interest in which we want to be approved in this session,” said the president to express question in the National Palace.
He added: “There are pending reform to the Judiciary, there is the Customs Law and the entire economic package: the Income Law, the Expenditure Budget.”
Neither on his arrival or at his departure from the National Palace, Senator Adam Augusto López wanted to make statements to the media before the controversy in which he has been involved in recent weeks in the case of Hernán Bermúdez Requena, former Secretary of Security of Tabasco – when the today Morenista senator was governor of that entity -, whom he relates to the criminal group The barredora And today he is a fugitive from justice.
Upon retiring, Deputy Monreal was interrogated regarding that controversy, to which he replied that he was not addressed and noticed an attitude towards the senator from the president.
“What I observed was an attitude of respect with Adam Augusto and ratification of his work at the head of the Morena parliamentary group in the Senate. What I observed is that the president has respect for Senator Adam Augusto.”

– For me it is a gesture of respect and an institutional attitude, of continuing to work. There was closeness, expressions of respect and affection.
On the other hand, at the People’s Conference, the executive head also assured that there will be no distancing with former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
“Notice what courage they have to President López Obrador. It is incredible, inside and out (of the country), the rights, the conservatives … cannot understand the Mexican political, social phenomenon. And it is very simple: here the people were empowered, the people decide in Mexico. The president only has one master, which is the people of Mexico.”
