Sheinbaum presents digital plan to simplify life and facilitate procedures

President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo presented the process of digitizing the procedures that the federal government will carry out to simplify the lives of Mexicans and avoid any form of corruption that may exist at a window.

With this step, the aim is to reduce federal procedures by 50 percent, to go from 7,000 to 3,500, said José Antonio Peña Merino, head of the Digital and Telecommunications Transformation Agency, the body from which the project will be operated.

Yesterday morning, he explained that it is planned to generate a data intelligence system that will allow alerts to be issued at customs and in the SAT, in addition to increasing collection.

The National Cybersecurity Plan will also be launched, so that all authorities are well protected and have minimum guarantee protocols to avoid hacking.

As in Mexico City, he explained, the project includes a tool called MX Key (which in fact is a personalized account), a app and the launch of a satellite between 2027 and 2028 for intercommunication.

The President explained that its function is similar to that of a digital bank account. “Someone logs into your account with email, number and password, and all the information comes there. MX Key has that objective, it contains the history of the procedures carried out with the government, so that when another is carried out, the documents used previously can be seen.

He indicated that the digital agency will benefit not only Mexicans in the country, but also beyond the borders, as it will allow consular procedures to be carried out.

Peña Merino said that it is about unifying the technological capabilities of the federal government for their best use, generating technological autonomy and republican austerity. It is based on seven points: that any in-person procedure can also exist digitally, reduce the regulatory burden on people and companies to a minimum, generate savings, zero corruption and that public systems talk to each other.

Likewise, he mentioned that there will be a single citizen service number to resolve all non-emergency problems, and that there will be intelligence and data analysis, technological autonomy and the Internet as a right.

It is a unique model in the world in terms of organization and unifying all technological infrastructure capabilities under one place.he pointed out.

The official estimated that the project will be one hundred percent in 2026. Regarding the satellite that will be put into orbit in three or four years, he stated that the objective is for it to “continue to provide critical services for government authorities, but also provide connectivity in remote areas.

And it is not just about going out to acquire a satellite, but about generating a technology transfer process, that there are components designed and assembled in Mexico, and that the satellite, of course, has national content.
