During their conversation, the topic they addressed was the pacification of the country, where more than 25,000 intentional homicides occur every year.
“Strengthen the programs we have with the Catholic Church, such as ‘Yes to disarmament, yes to peace’. I told her about this program and how important it was for the country,” explained the federal president.
According to the president, the Pope expressed his willingness to participate in the pacification of the country.
“Nothing specific, but the will for us all to participate in pacification in some areas of the country and the will of the Catholic Church to help,” he indicated.
Sheinbaum said that Pope XIV sent “many greetings” to Mexico.
