“We are going to propose the electoral reform with the axes that we consider necessary and that the citizens ask for; not because one person or another does not agree are we going to stop presenting what we consider essential” for the country, assured President Claudia Sheinbaum.

The president pointed out that the proposal will be based on what the presidential commission has collected in forums and surveys, “to improve our electoral system.”

The chambers of Deputies and the Senate will say “whether they agree or not, but in principle we consider that the majority will,” he said.

The initiative would be presented next week.

In her daily morning conference, the president also stated that she does not have preferential initiatives for the ordinary period, which will start this Sunday, but that “there are several proposals that we will present, some of them related to culture,” of which she did not want to provide details.
