He also disqualified what he called “virtual realities” created by his opponents on social networks and opinion columns.
Given this, he assured that none of the criticisms about alleged democratic regression, lack of freedoms or links with criminal groups are justified, and assured that his government “does not repress” and that freedom of expression “is fully respected.”
Sheinbaum highlights achievements of the “second floor” of the transformation
In her speech, President Sheinbaum also defended the economic and social results of her government, which she described as the “second floor of the transformation.”
Among them, the sustained increase in the minimum wage stood out, which will go from 88 pesos a day in 2018 to 315 pesos as of January 2026; control of inflation at 3.57% as of October; the strength of the weight; the creation of 551,000 formal jobs this year; the reduction of unemployment to 2.6% and the growth of foreign direct investment.
“The economic model works and gives results,” he stated, ensuring that development with social justice is possible.
He also highlighted the reform presented to gradually reduce the working day to 40 hours per week by 2030, the progress towards a universal health system with credentialing starting in 2026 and the expansion of access to secondary and higher education.
The president also defended the recovery of the role of the State in strategic sectors, such as Pemex and the CFE, and announced new railway projects to interconnect the country from the south to the north.
In social matters, he highlighted the expansion of welfare programs, which today reach more than 32 million families, as well as the constitutional nature of supports such as pensions for older adults, people with disabilities, scholarships for students and the Women’s Wellbeing program.
He stressed that this support is delivered without intermediaries and without political conditions.
Regarding health, he announced progress in the purchase and distribution of medicines through national protocols and the so-called “health routes”, as well as the beginning, next year, of a credentialing process for a universal health system.
In education, he reiterated the construction of more high schools and public universities, the expansion of spaces at the middle and higher levels, and the incorporation of new technological careers.
He also highlighted that the Mayan Train has transported more than a million passengers and that its cargo mode is already being built.
In water matters, he celebrated the approval of the National Water Law, which, he said, “recovers water as a resource of the nation” and seeks to avoid private hoarding. He anticipated that in 2026 there will be an intensive federal highway rehabilitation program.

In his speech Sheinbaum also addressed the bilateral relationship with the United States, after this Friday he had a small meeting with Donald Trump, within the framework of the 2026 World Cup draw.
He stressed that his government has achieved “a good relationship” with the US based on four principles: respect for sovereignty, shared responsibility, collaboration without subordination and defense of territorial integrity.
“During this year, we have shown that we can have a good relationship with the United States, putting our principles at the forefront,” he highlighted.
“Mexico is a free, independent and sovereign country! We are not a colony or protectorate of anyone!” he added.
The president also referred to the trade relationship with the United States, and commented that she is convinced that it will be maintained.
“Both economies need each other to be able to compete with other regions of the world,” he said.
The president’s message was given within the framework of the seven years since the beginning of the so-called Fourth Transformation. Sheinbaum thus stated that the task of the current government is to “build the second floor” of the project.
He reiterated that the opposition seeks “foreign interference,” “invent slander” and “make people believe that Mexico is not a democratic country,” but that the strength of the people will sustain the course.
“We are humanists, he said. “We are guided by honesty, deep love for the people and the conviction that prosperity is shared or it is not prosperity.”
The event closed with a call for the unity of the movement and the defense of the principles that, he assured, gave rise to the 4T: “We do not steal, we do not lie and we never betray the people of Mexico.”
