At an event in Querétaro, Sheinbam said that it will promote the construction of two trains that will pass through the north of the country, crossing Querétaro, Guadalajara and reaching Nogales, Sonora.
“We are already doing the studies. You see that the president has not only developed welfare programs, but also strategic works for the country. Just as the Mayan Train and the Interoceanic were already done. We are going to strengthen both, but now we are going to take those trains to the north and where do they have to go? Through Querétaro,” he said.
The Morena member reiterated that her government will be the “second floor” of the Fourth Transformation, as she asserted that she will govern with the same principles and causes that Andrés Manuel López Obrador promoted. She added that she will maintain all welfare programs and they will be referred to the Constitution.
Meanwhile, Andrés Manuel López Obrador said he was happy because for the first time in history Mexico will be governed by a woman. He asserted that Claudia Sheinbaum has convictions, which guarantees that the country “will continue to advance.”
“There are 300 years of colonial rule, all men, and then 200 years of all male presidents: 500 years, five centuries. Until now, there will be one female president in Mexico,” she said.
He also assured that there will be good relations with all peoples and governments of the world.
“They will respect us, just as we will respect other nations. They will continue to respect Mexico, because we do not want to be a colony of any foreign country again,” he said.
During the event, when the governor of Querétaro, PAN member Mauricio Kuri, came to speak, the attendees shouted “get out, get out” and did not let him participate until the virtual president-elect, Claudia Sheinbaum, and the current president Andrés Manuel López Obrador asked the attendees to respect and listen.
“I’m going to ask you something, the election is over and we all have to respect each other. Let’s let the governor of Queretaro speak, okay?” said the next president of the Republic.
Sheinbaum applied a similar program in Mexico City
When Claudia Sheinbaum was head of government in Mexico City, she implemented a similar program, but under the name “Salud en tu Vida” (Health in your Life), which replaced “Médico en tu Casa” (Doctor in your Home), promoted during the administration of PRD member Miguel Ángel Mancera.
Both strategies were carried out by brigades that went from house to house on the streets of the city to identify people at risk; however, the objectives were different.
“Health in your Life” aims to help city residents understand the care they should take in their diet and physical activity, as well as to detect people who are overweight or obese.
