The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaumconfirmed on Thursday morning that the former director of Pemex, Carlos Treviñohe was arrested in the United States and will be deported to be tried for corruption in the country.
Carlos Treviño had an arrest warrant and a Interpol Red Cardfor the crimes of bribery, criminal association and money laundering within the Odebrecht corruption case. The former director of Pemex is accused of having received more than 4 million pesos in Odebrecht bribes to favor it in the Construction of the ethylene project XXI.
