SG denies responsibility of Encinas in the alleged arrest of Guadalupe Xiu

The Ministry of the Interior (SG) rejected yesterday that the Undersecretary for Human Rights, Alejandro Encinas, was responsible for the alleged arrest of the activist Guadalupe Xiu, who would have been transferred to the city of Oaxaca at her own request in order to carry out the procedures for legal recognition as a transsexual woman.

In a statement, the SG denied categorically the statement that holds the Undersecretary for Human Rights, Population and Migration, Alejandro Encinas Rodríguez, responsible for the disappearance of Guadalupe Xiu.

According to dependency, Through the social networks of the self-styled Okupa Cuba and the Black Bloc, false information was spread about people who were at the sit-in on Abraham González Street, who affirmed that Guadalupe Xiu was taken to Oaxaca on the orders of the undersecretary, which which is absolutely false.

The institution assured that “Guadalupe is in the city of Oaxaca, where the SG, at her request, is providing her with all the facilities and accompaniment to process hearings before the state government and initiate the procedures for gender identity recognition, to thus exercise their rights as a woman trans”.

Xiu remained for several months in a sit-in in front of the SG to demand that the federal and Oaxacan authorities provide him with protection.
