Alianza Lima removed the Peruvian footballers from the first team Carlos Zambrano, Sergio Peña and Miguel Trauco after being reported in Argentina by a woman of sexual abuse allegedly committed in Montevideo, during the recent preseason tour of the blue and white team.

In a statement, Alianza Lima announced that, “Given the publicly known facts spread through the media in recent hours, the club has indefinitely separated the players involved from the men’s first team, for whom a disciplinary procedure has been initiated.”
“Our institution expresses its absolute willingness to collaborate with the authorities while the corresponding investigations are carried out. Alianza Lima reaffirms its absolute commitment to the values that sustain it: respect, discipline and integrity,” added the Peruvian club.

The separation of Zambrano, Peña and Trauco occurs on the eve of Alianza Lima celebrating the ‘Blanquiazul Night’, the evening set for this Saturday in which the team will present itself to its fans for the new 2026 season and in which it will play a friendly match with the Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami.
