MIAMI, United States. — The state company Aguas de La Habana warned this Friday about interruptions in service scheduled for next week in areas to the east of the capital.
A note appeared in the Citizen’s Portal and disseminated by the state press points out that it indicates that “due to maintenance work and repairs in the conductors and electrical lines that feed the supply source of El Gato, it will be necessary to interrupt the water service next Thursday, May 18.”
According to the information, the affectations will occur between the hours of eight in the morning and six in the afternoon.
Aguas de La Habana specified that in the Habana del Este municipality the affected areas will be Alamar, Camilo Cienfuegos (partially) and Villa Panamericana”.
There will also be interruptions in several popular councils in San Miguel del Padrón: Jacomino, Afán, Luyanó Moderno, Juanelo, California, Ma. Cristina, La Rosalía, Monterrey, Dolores, Rocafort and Núñez.
Another of the municipalities where the service will be affected is El Cotorro, specifically in the areas of Santa María del Rosario and Centro del Cotorro.
In Regla, the water service will be interrupted in the Casablanca popular council and partially in the lower area of the municipality.
In addition, damages are expected in the Lawton area, in the Diez de Octubre municipality.
Aguas de La Habana pointed out that “once the maintenance and repair work is finished, the water service will be gradually restored to its normal hours.”
“The Aguas de La Habana Company apologizes to the users affected by the inconvenience caused,” the note ends.
Despite maintenance and repairs As the Havana authorities regularly announce, the hydraulic situation does not seem to improve in the Cuban capital, where the majority of the population only receives drinking water in their homes at certain hours of the day, often every other day.
