Several corruption cases are in their final phase

The courts They plan to decide during the year that has just begun several of the corruption cases of the governments of PLDgiven that some of them are in their final phase.

Among the cases about to conclude are those called “Anti Octopus” and “Coral-Coral 5G”, which are in the presentation stages of witnesses to charges and discharges.

It is expected that at least a decision will be made in one of the two cases no later than May, since both are in well advanced stages.

In the “Anti Pulpo” case they appear as defendants Juan Alexis Medina Sánchez and the former vice president of Fonper, Carmen Magalys Medina Sánchezboth siblings of the former president Danilo Medina Sánchezas well as 27 other individuals and 21 companies facing charges of corruption and money laundering.

Also involved are the former president of the Fonper Fernando Rosa; the former Minister of Public Health Lorenzo Wilfredo (Freddy) Hidalgo Núñez; José Dolores Santana Carmona and Wacal Bernabé Méndez Pineda, as well as Francisco Pagán Rodríguez, former general director of the former Office of Supervising Engineers of State Works (Oisoe), and the former inspector of that institution Aquiles Alejandro Christopher Sánchez.

The group is accused of defrauding the State of more than 5 billion pesos during the PLD governments.
