Several communities will be without water in Panama Oeste due to the cleaning of the water treatment plant

The Jaime Díaz Quintero water treatment plant will operate at 50% of its capacity due to the cleaning of sedimentation tanks #1 and #2, work that, according to the Institute of National Aqueducts and Sewers (IDAAN), is carried out to guarantee the quality of drinking water and improvements in the plant production.

The work will be carried out from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will affect the low-pressure water service to the Barrio Colón Township (with the exception of the Barriadas Lomas de Mastranto and Jardines de Mastranto, which will have a lack of water) and lack of supply in the Townships of Guadalupe, El Coco, Playa Leona and Puerto Caimito in the District of La Chorrera, in turn the Township Juan Demóstenes Arosemena and part of Vista Alegre in the District of Arraiján will be without service.

All necessary measures will be taken to reduce the effects of this maintenance, attending to sensitive points such as the hospitals in the districts of La Chorrera and Arraiján that are affected through tank cars.

EI IDAAN recommends taking the necessary measures to avoid shortages during the time that the works last and the system recovers.
