Saint Dominic.-Several members of the National Police accused of being part of a network that irregularly extracted ammunition from warehouses to market them, deserted the ranks of that institution and their whereabouts are unknown to date.
This was revealed by a source linked to the investigation, explaining that the deserters are part of a group of eight agents, including officers and subordinates, who disappeared before the Ministry of the Interior and Police released the details about the ongoing investigation.
On Thursday, October 31, through a statement, the authorities reported on the dismantling of said criminal network that operated within the National Police.
However, the names and ranks of those involved have not been revealed so far.
On repeated occasions, the Minister of the Interior and Police, Faride Raful, has refused to refer to the case, arguing that it is now up to the Public Ministry to determine, based on its investigations, who bears criminal responsibility.
“It is a complex investigation, it is not about one or two people, therefore at the time the Public Ministry, following the procedures, will make known to the public who the people involved are, the ranks they had and how they operated,” he stated. Raful last Tuesday.
