The authorities secured seven rifles, 16 loaders, a Magazín (To store bullets), 1 tactical vest with plates and three more without plates, in addition to three tactical panties. They also found rifles, 188 doses of marijuana and four motorcycles.
During the operation, they used a Black Hawk helicopter to monitor from the air while the agents made tours. Everything confiscated is already in the hands of the Prosecutor’s Office for investigation.
Guerrero is one of the states with more violence in Mexico. Meanwhile, the Costa Grande is an area where several criminal groups fight to control routes and territories to do illegal business.
Coyuca de Benítez is a key place for “Los Granados”, a group that separated from the Beltrán Leyva cartel and has been operating in the area for several years. It is formed by former members of that cartel that decided to separate to control the Costa Grande de Guerrero.
The band is involved in activities such as drug trafficking, extortion and kidnappings and is now allied with another cartel known as “the four letters.” In addition to them, there are other groups that dispute the control of terrotyro on the Costa Grande de Guerrero, such as the Guerrerense Guard, New Blood, Los Rodríguez. The Viagras, the Arreola, the Maldonado and the Knights Templar.
This last criminal group is dedicated to activities such as drug trafficking, kidnapping and extortion and has been present on the Costa Grande for more than a decade.
This Tuesday’s operation was done without shots or confrontations, thanks to the coordination between the authorities and air support.
These actions are part of a national strategy to reduce violence in states such as Guerrero, where different criminal groups have disputed the territory.
