Outstanding athletes and businesswomen will talk about the importance of exercise in female empowerment.
In commemoration of International Women’s Day and within the framework of the ‘Born Ready’ campaign, seven successful women (see box), in the sports and professional fields, will tell their stories to motivate the empowerment of other women.
Monica CrespoFitness Coach and Nike Trainer and host of the discussion, indicates that the intention is give women a more significant space in sports. “And motivate them to benefit in their personal and work lives,” she says.
Sport is linked to female empowerment because it allows a direct connection between the body and the mind. “The time that you achieve something that you thought was impossible is automatically transferred to your different facets of your life,” says Crespo. «It fosters this strength of women within other facets. When I finish a marathon, I feel like my mind and body are ready for anything,” she says.
With this coincides, the businesswoman and triathlete Maria Luz Arellano who points out that sport is a mechanism to develop and emphasizes the slogan of the event: And you? What were you born ready for? “The power of that phrase is very inspiring, because it is discovering what we are naturally and genuinely good at.”
Arellano mentions that it is important that women athletes show that physical activity allows you to have a comprehensive health mechanism. While Crespo points out that saying there is no time is an excuse. “Let’s just look at how much time we spend on the cell phone and what we could sacrifice, one daily half hour of that time in exercise«.
