The National Meteorological Service (SMN) issued orange alerts for severe storms with intense gusts and strong electrical activity for sectors of Córdoba and San Luis, while yellow alerts for storms also apply for the provinces of Buenos Aires, La Pampa, La Rioja, Mendoza , San Juan and others due to rain for Buenos Aires and La Pampa.
According to the agency’s report, an orange alert was forecast for Córdoba in the towns of Juárez Celman; the lower zone of Río Cuarto; and the mountainous areas of the departments of Cruz del Eje, Minas, Pocho, San Alberto and San Javier.
The orange level extends to the northeast of San Luis in the low areas of Chacabuco, Junín and Libertador General San Martínwhile the rest of the province is under a yellow alert due to less intense storms.

The area with orange alert will be affected by rains and storms, some locally strong or severe, which will be accompanied by “intense gusts, hail, strong electrical activity and abundant rainfall in short periods,” the SMN warned.
“Accumulated precipitation values between 40 and 60 mm are expected, and may be exceeded locally,” they indicated.
As recommendations for the orange level, which implies “dangerous meteorological phenomena for society”, the SMN asked to remain in closed constructions such as houses, schools or buildings; stay away from electrical appliances and avoid using corded phones.
He also suggested that, if you are traveling, stay inside the vehicle; avoid driving through flooded or affected streets and, if there is a risk of water entering the home, cut off the power supply.
The national body also issued yellow alerts for storms for the west and south of the province of Buenos Aires, the east of La Pampa and almost all of Córdoba.
The warning also applies to the south of La Rioja in the towns of General Juan Facundo Quiroga, General San Martín and Rosario Vera Peñaloza, Chamical, General Belgrano and General Ocampo; the south of San Juan in the departments of 25 de Mayo, Angaco, Caucete, San Martín and Valle Fértil; and the northeast of Mendoza in Las Heras, La Paz, Lavalle, San Martín and Santa Rosa.
The provinces will have storms, some locally strong, accompanied by gusts, “occasional hail, strong electrical activity and abundant rainfall in short periods,” the SMN said.
“Accumulated precipitation values between 20 and 40 mm are expected for these areas, and may be exceeded locally,” the national body specified.
Likewise, the SMN issued another yellow alert due to rains for the south of the province of Buenos Aires on the Bahía Blanca coast, the Coronel Dorrego coast, the Coronel de Marina Leonardo Rosales coast, the Villarino coast, Monte Hermoso, the western Patagones, Puán and the low areas of Coronel Pringles, Coronel Suárez, Saavedra and Tornquist.
The national body issued yellow alerts for storms for the west and south of the province of Buenos Aires, the east of La Pampa and almost all of Córdoba.
The yellow level also reaches the southeast of La Pampa in the towns of Caleu Caleu and Hucal, where rains and showers of varying intensity are expected, some of which may be locally strong.
Accumulated precipitation values between 40 and 70 mm are expected for these places, which may be exceeded in a timely manner, for which the SMN recommended not to carry out outdoor activities, do not take out the garbage, and remove objects that prevent the water from draining.
He also asked to stay away from coastal and riverside areas, and to keep himself informed by the authorities.
