An accident with a rollover that occurred this morning left seven people injured at kilometer 76+450 of the Central Highway, in the Paccha Miraflores sector. The Toyota RAV4 truck, which was heading towards Lima with two families on board, ended up off the road after losing control in the area known as the “Devil’s Curve.”
The unit was overturned several meters from the runway, supported by eucalyptus trees that prevented it from falling down the slope towards the Mantaro River. Drivers passing through the area helped the occupants until the arrival of the Acolla Highway Police, which coordinated the transfer of those affected to the Domingo Olavegoya Hospital in Jauja.
Among the injured are the driver, Jesús Andree Suárez Salas (33), and six passengers, including minors. The National Police began proceedings to establish the causes of the accident in this section considered high risk.
