The director of Natural Resources, Yuvenka Rosado, reported seven forest fires detected in the department of Santa Cruz. Forest firefighters from the Governorate were sent to the six municipal points to fight the fire.

“The Forest Fire Early Warning System (Satif) reported active fires in the municipalities of San Matías, Gutiérrez, Lagunillas, Roboré, Cabezas and San Ignacio de Velascothe firefighters have moved to these municipalities with all the necessary logistics to combat, control and liquidate the fires,” Rosado reported.

Rosado asked the general population to help prevent fires and report to the competent authorities the ill-intentioned people who continue to cause these fires in the department.

Similarly, he urged the Forest and Land Authority (ABT) to initiate proceedings and investigations against the people who cause this damage, since the Governor’s Office has sent the ABT the emergency table with the coordinates of all registered fires, so that they can find those responsible for each one.
